Ashley and I are in the club getting tipsy off of 22 year old tequila, which apparently doesn't kill you, though it does seem to take longer to kick in. WE are now watching bend it like beckham with daisy, who is drunk off of 22 year old fumes. It is most entirely awesome times. We are now drinking peach schnapps, mixed with champagne and peach drink (from crystal form)
Life is beautiful.
PLus the tiger cats won.
YAY!
School is also awesome. Second year rocks.
Back to drinking, and getting drunk off of fumes.

Alright Guys,
As you know, since I turned 18 i've been donating blood on a regular basis. In early to mid june I will start donating blood using platlet pheresis (sp?), where basically they seperate my plasma from my platlets, give me back the plasma and keep the platlets. THis entire process involves about an hour and a half to two hours. It means they can take my blood more often, thus helping more people.

But why update about this, you may ask. Well I was wondering if you guys, my friends, would like to try to match my chair time in normal blood donations. Basically I'm asking if 5-6 of you guys would be interested in donating blood. I know some of you are afraid of needles and such but really no body likes needles. It's just a chance to do something nice for somebody else, and get free donuts, coffee, tea, cookies, and sometimes soup after. So ya. I just thought it would be a cool chance to get some of you to give donating blood a try. If you're interested in criteria, check the blood donors website, I think if you google canadian blood services you'll find it. Just an idea. give it some thought.

Ok. SO. I have an interview with pizza pizza call centre tomorrow. the job is good, clean, and not in fast food. THere are 24 hours of paid training. it's only part time (i was hoping to get full), but if i worked it during the school year things would still work out. the problem is I have a couple of application out to other more desirable jobs, one in retail and the other as a student curatorial assistant. both of these positions would be full time, but applications deadlines haven't passed so i don't even know yet whether i'll even get an interview. so do I...

A) tell the truth at the interview that this position may only be temporary, depending on these pending applications. they should theoretically know this, as they are paying to train me.

OR

B) don't tell them, if i get the job take it, and if i get any of the other jobs, quit. the only problem with this is I feel sort of guilty about omitting the truth in a job interview situation.

oh well. opinions please? interview is tomorrow at three.

Stupid parents. not really. I really actually like my parents but right now my mom is getting on my nerves. here's why.

Earlier this month (well ok february) we started to talk about going on a trip to hawaii. awesome right?
Wrong. My parents have their heart set on going from december 20th-30th. Over christmas. Unless you go to mcmaster, where exams don't end til the 20th (we called). Seems insignificant. Unless your me. I've had exams on the last day of exams 100% of the time so far, so I'm not about to risk missing an exam to go to hawaii (I know I'm kicking myself too). It's stupid. I've been making stupid pro-active decisions at least since grade nine. All my decisions have been geared towards success (for the most part). So this, a very hard decision, went in the same vein. You think in a family where making bad decisions is as common as having a name starting with 'A' (three for the record), my good responsible decision would be respected. But no. my mom says "Well why don't you just lie and get a doctors note if you do have one? It's not that big a deal!"

Now I've been raised for as long as I can remember to tell the truth and when I really need some decision making support I get told to throw away morals for a week in hawaii. Well I've decided. I'll be responsible. I will spend christmas alone while my family basks on the hawaiian beaches. I will be honest and not risk my academic success for a week of sunburns and fun. Thanks for the support Mom.

I know this doesn't probably seem like a big deal but it is to me.

Guys. I have had the most awesome night I've had in a long time. Jordan and I got together after school, he set up my WoW mods and Vent, we ordered wings from red rocket and then just cuddled together while he raided and I read Gone With The Wind. It was seriously the nicest time I've had in a while. We just cuddled and it was awesome.

Even more unerstandably good news, I came through first semester squeaky clean. Despite stupid MUGSI I eventually found it I had done way better than expected in everything, but especially the History of English Lit. Yay for that. Seriously I'm just glad to know where I stand in 1st year. Nice to have first term over with. Now comes second term, with it's heavier workload, evil villian as a professor (Bond villian, not like superhero villian), and only 4/6 interesting profs (still an improvement from 1/4 though!)

Had a great time seeing you all over break, good times indeed. Tough that you won't be home til reading week (and most of yours are a different week than macs.)

Oh Great Cthulhu!

I have been an extremely sedulous devotee this year.

In October, I sacrificed [info]beatinghearts to Cthulhu (500 points). In June, I bombed a cultist gathering (-100 points). In May, I called down the wrath of Yog-Sothoth upon [info]captainceef (65 points). In January, I rammed a ship into you (sorry Cthulhu!) (-1000 points). Yesterday, I recruited [info]groundlessfaith as a new cultist (30 points). In February, I rescued [info]janiethegeek from being sacrificed (-200 points).

In short, I have been very bad (-705 points) and deserve to be fed to the ghouls.

Do you ever get the feeling that your degree isn't going to get you where you want it to? I did today. I realized out of everyone i've talked to this year about 90% of them are planning on double majoring in history and English and of those about 90% are planning on teaching. Now I'm not too good at math but it seem sto me that there just isn't enough room for all these history-english teachers in the school systems. I mean, sure there is going to be a hiring boom when all the older teachers reach there magic number but I still don't think there are enough spots for everyone who wants to teach. So I started thinking, Why am I taking this degree? Maybe I'm spending too much time around engineers, but talking to all these people who have plans for when they graduate and aren't going to need a second degree to make their first one viable is making me all anxious. Granted I would never want to be an engineer because HELLO I'm too pretty a) to fail, B) to date a nurse, c) to have a work related nervous breakdown, and d) to be an engineer (no offense intended to female engineers. but I'm too pretty(read stupid) for it). I guess theres still Law school, because that was an idea i'd been throwing around. But I'm already stressing about applications that don't have to be done for three years. Maybe I should take summer school and change to business or science. So in summary,

Suffering from extreme insanity. Please Send Help.

To whom it may concern,
If you ever have children, god forbid, train them properly. And for godsakes do not bring them to museums, especially places such as Ellis Island or the United Nations Art Gallery where the subject matter deserves respect, If they can't behave themselves. It is not "Cute" or "Funny" When your 10 year old child runs into other patrons, sits on floor level display information, Yells at the top of their lungs, beats other patrons with posters from the gift shops, disrespects immigrants by saying they look like "Fags", smudges the glass on display cases by, I kid you not, LICKING them, or Running up and down narrow corridors with their arms out. Museums, Art galleries, historical sites, and interpretive centres deserve the same respect given to schools or libraries. Unless they promote rambuncious behaviour through interactive exhibits then tell your kids to be quiet, stay with you, and DON'T touch, ot for that matter taste.

In other news, I have a beautiful fake Gucci Purse. I love it. It is Gorgeous. Even if it isn't Gucci. and at just $30 it is well priced. *hugs beautiful purse*. And my house will now adhere to the UN charter or human rights and freedoms as I own a pocket copy which I will keep on hand. My purse looks sort of like this one, but burgundy and black

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.
